Welcome to the Spoiler Room, a safe place for spoiler addicts to come on a weekly basis to learn what’s coming next on their favorite shows and, hopefully, get a few of their own questions answered. If you want scoop on a specific show, send your questions to spoilerroom@ew.com.
We know season 1 characters are coming back on Quantico, but how will the FBI even be involved in the Quantico story now that Alex is with the CIA? — Bridget
Knowing that Shelby, Miranda, and the twins are back isn’t enough for you? Just kidding — and no worries: Showrunner Josh Safran says there’s a deeper connection between the agencies that justifies the presence of those returning characters, though he’s careful not to say exactly what brings the FBI into play for this CIA-centric season. “By the first commercial break,” he says, “the link is made explicitly clear.” Besides, Priyanka Chopra adds that Alex’s headspace also moves the first season’s story forward into season 2, despite the change of setting. “She’s lost friends, she’s lost family and her sense of self,” she says. “She’s coming into this job with everything that has happened.” In other words, it’s impossible for Alex to simply leave all of her Quantico experiences behind.
Will we finally get some answers on Liz’s past and the night of the fire on The Blacklist?— Nancy
Do you really mean: Will we finally find out who Red is to her? Because Megan Boone thinks that’s definitely a possibility this season. “That’s what it looks like to me,” she says. “What it’s starting to look like is we are really delving into Liz’s past and exposing a lot of things that have been withheld throughout the series. So I can’t say confidently, but I think so.”
Emily Bett Rickards has been training a lot lately. Does it mean Felicity will be involved in more action scenes in Arrow season 5? — Itakha
At first, Felicity will be dealing with the fallout of Havenrock’s destruction. “In the first five episodes, we face head-on the decision that Felicity made,” EP Marc Guggenheim says. “We are most definitely not ignoring it.” Following that, though, Guggenheim cryptically teases what could be Felicity jumping in on the action. “We’re positioning her to do something in the second half of the year that is really, really key, and that isn’t about her relationship with Oliver or even necessarily her father or her mother. It’s really new territory for her, and we’ve very excited about it. Some big things are going to happen with Felicity.”
Anything Once Upon a Time related? If you can give me CaptainSwan info, I’ll be grateful. — Shannon
The show will be diving more into Hook’s past as his relationship with Emma moves forward. “Last year we saw Emma saying I love you to him when they weren’t in any sort of danger,” EP Adam Horowitz says. “Hook is excited to progress that relationship. At the same time, he is on his path of redemption, and we are going to see Hook doing his best to be heroic this year.”
Do you have anything on Supergirl? — Mara
There’s a big shakeup coming to CatCo — and I don’t just mean with Cat Grant. Winn gets fired! “He’s okay with that because he’s going to work for Hank and Alex,” EP Andrew Kreisberg says of Winn going to work for the DEO. “It’s like big giant nerd getting to work for the nerd factory, so he’s very happy in that new environment.”
Any new info on FitzSimmons on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? — Amber
It sounds like things may get off to a rocky start for FitzSimmons. “Fitz and Simmons are in a relationship now, so we’re going to play with that dynamic and what’s it like to work with the person that you’re in love with,” EP Jed Whedon says. But that will be made more complicated by Simmons becoming the new S.H.I.E.L.D. director’s (Jason O’Mara) No. 2. “This new director may come with new policy changes, new rules,” EP Maurissa Tancharoen says. “Simmons being someone who’s good at following the rules may cause some tension with the rest of our team.”
Something about Jolex’s storyline on Grey’s Anatomy? I love them so much. — Giusina
It won’t be long before Alex finds out that Jo Wilson isn’t who she says she is. “Obviously, he’s going to find out why she can’t marry him,” Justin Chambers says. “I don’t know where that takes them from there, but he’s hurt, and he’s angry, and he’s wrong, but he’s also right.” Unfortunately for Alex, Jo will have a very strong reaction to what he did. More on that here.
Do you have anything on Peter’s return to Teen Wolf? — Cynthia
As you can see in the trailer, Peter finds himself in some sort of other dimension with Stiles after Stiles is taken by the Ghost Riders. But when asked if the Ghost Riders were the reason Peter escaped from Valack’s cell, Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis says, “You’ll see. We definitely do a bit of a flashback to show exactly what happened to Peter.” Even better? Davis says it’s possible to see more familiar faces in this mystery place. Hit the comments with the character you’d most like to see return!
What’s going on with Kol on The Originals? — S Delcarmen
Considering that Elijah and Freya both had a hand in Davina’s death — and Klaus is to blame for pretty much everything — Kol will find himself bonding with, well, the only other sibling he can: Rebekah. “Rebekah, like her siblings, has gotten caught up into the unified family takedown and spent five years in an alternate reality and is now back once again with that same choice she always has: What is my life supposed to be outside this crazy family,” showrunner Julie Plec says. “Kol, interestingly enough, is asking himself those same questions. The two of them are going to bond in a way that we haven’t gotten to see so much about what their future is in this family and how much of this crazy they’re expected to live through.”
So excited Fish Mooney is back on Gotham! Anything you can tell me about her return? — Diana
Fish is back with a vengeance. “She definitely has a huge impact on Penguin,” executive producer Ken Woodruff says. “She’s a really powerful person in this world, and Indian Hill only accentuated that. Her time in Indian Hill gave her this ability to exert control over people and for her. She couldn’t ask for a better power. She’s going to stir things up and cause some real problems for everyone involved.”
