Who’s the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D.? That’s one of the many questions we hope the cast and executive producers of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. answer during the show’s panel at Comic-Con on Friday. To prepare for the big event, EW is here to give you a refresher on where the super series finished out its most recent season:
Where we left off: In order to prevent Hive from turning humanity into swayed Inhumans, Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) sacrificed himself and became the prophesied Fallen Agent, perishing alongside Hive in the space-bound quinjet. A flash forward to six months later revealed Coulson (Clark Gregg) is no longer the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the organization is tracking Daisy (Chloe Bennet), who has gone rogue — and goth!
What we know about season 4: S.H.I.E.L.D. is definitely going through an upheaval. For one, Coulson is no longer director, changing the game for the longtime agent. We’ll also find a much more ruthless Daisy next season, who is dealing with guilt and loss, hence the self-imposed exile. As for next season’s big bad, the executive producers are looking to move away from the mustache-twirling big bad toward something more grounded. Plus: The introduction of Life Model Decoys!
Comic-Con burning question: Who’s the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
